Each year, thousands of people become sick with forms of TB that are more complex to treat, or what is sometimes called “Expanded Resistance.” In order to offer them the best care possible, a group of global experts—including medical providers, impacted communities, civil society organizations, and other groups involved in TB programming and service delivery—came together to form a community of practice. We call ourselves The BETTER Project: Building Experience Treating TB with Expanded Resistance. Our mission is to support one another to provide the highest quality of care for people who are diagnosed with TB that has expanded resistance.
